Apple & Blackberry Crumble

Makes :- 6 Portions
Ingredients
- Flour ~ 150g
- Brown Sugar ~ 35g
- White Sugar ~ 35g + 2tbsp to coat the apples
- Porridge Oats ~ 35g
- Butter (Cubed) ~ 75g
- Apples ~ 3 medium
- Mixed Spice ~ 2 tsp
- Blackberries ~ A handful
Method
- 1. Sieve your flour into a large mixing bowl and add your sugar & oats and mix well
- 2. Add your cubed butter and run the flour through your fingers while squeezing the butter
- 3. once the texture is like fine breadcrumbs, move the bowl to the side and prep your apples
- 4. Peel your apples and chop into 2cm cubes
- 5. When working with the apples, place the cut apple into water with a tsp of lemon juice to prevent browning
- 6. Drain and dry your apple cubes using some paper towel and transfer into the dish you're using for your crumble
- 7. Coat in 2 tbsp of sugar and 2 tsp of mixed spice and mix well
- 8. Scatter your blackberries in the dish and give it all one last mix
- 9. Pour your crumble over the fruit and smooth out the top
- 10. Place in a preheated oven at 180C/350F for around 35 minutes or until the crumble has turned golden
- 11. Allow to cool for 5-10 minutes before serving. Best served with some ice-cream, custard or cream
