No deep fryer needed! These oven chips will bake in 20 minutes and are much healthier!

Oven Baked Chips

Difficulty :- Beginner

Total Time :- 20 minutes

Serves :- 1

Ingredients

  • Medium Potato ~1
  • Oil ~ 1/2 tbsp
  • Chip seasoning of your choice (Salt and pepper)
      Method
        • 1. Wash and if you prefer, peel the potato and chop to leave the center as thick as you want your chips.
        • 2. Cut the rest of your potato the same thickness.
        • 3. Now chop each slice into your chips. Try to cut them all the same thickness to ensure they cook at the same time.
        • 4. Place the chips onto a plate lined with a paper towel and place in the microwave for 2 minutes. At this time place a baking tray in a preheated oven.
        • 5. Most of your chips should be cooked through after the 2 minutes in the microwave. Some may still have raw spots but they are still fine to use.
        • 6. Now transfer the chips back onto your chopping board and coat in your oil. Give it a good mix to make sure every chip is coated.
        • 7. Now you need to act quick, take your hot baking tray out the oven and pour your chips onto the tray and place back inside the oven for 20 minutes.
        • 8. Every so often take the tray out and flip the chips to ensure an even bake 
        • 9. Once cooked apply your choice of seasoning. I'm just going to add salt and pepper
        • 10. and that's all there is to it! You should have some crispy oven chips with a fluffy inside.
